2027 Medicare & Pennie Open Enrollment
What is THE Medicare Annual Enrollment Period?
The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, often referred to as the Open Enrollment Period (OEP), is a designated time each year when individuals can enroll in or make changes to their health insurance plans. The specifics can vary depending on the type of health insurance:
Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP):
This occurs from October 15 to December 7 each year. During this period, Medicare beneficiaries can:
Switch between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
Change Medicare Advantage plans.
Enroll in, drop, or change Medicare Part D (prescription drug plans).
Any plan changes go into effect January 1st
Why should you review your plan?
Your plan can change from year to year. Prescription costs, covered medications, provider networks, premiums, copays, and benefits can all change.
What is THE PENNIE OPEN Enrollment Period?
The Pennie Open Enrollment is an opportunity to review your health insurance options and select coverage for the upcoming year.
Pennie Open Enrollment Period:
This occurs from November 1 through January 15th each year. During this period, you can look at different plans to see if what you are currently enrolled in is the best plan for you or if switching to a new plan would be beneficial.
Changes during the open enrollment period will take effect either 1/1/2027 or 2/1/2027 dependent on application submission date.
Why should you review your Pennie coverage?
Your household income, family size, doctors, prescriptions, and health care needs can change. At the same time, insurance companies may change their plans, premiums, networks, and benefits.
